Mrs. Misuzu Uemura was born on November 11th, 1951 in Ehime-ken, Japan as the second daughter of Seihachi & Takami. She was one of the top students at middle and high school. She was also a good sports woman and became a captain of her school tennis club.
After she graduated high school, she worked at a bank. During that, she started thinking about the purpose of life and read many books. She studied the Divine principle and joined the Matsuyama Church in 1974. Since she became a full time church worker in 1978, she dedicated herself in witnessing and other church acitivities. Her strong will and faith always inspired members who worked with her. After working for 4 years in Yokohama, she was blessed in the 6,000 couples Blessing in 1982 with Mr. Ryozo Uemura.
Professionally, Misuzu Uemura worked as a bookkeeper for Saeilo Osaka from 1983 to 1984. She continued her career as a bookkeeper for Saielo USA from 1985 until 2002. While in the United States, she worked at Saeilo New York, Chicago, Colorado, Seattle and finally moved here to Los Angleles in 1993.
In 1994, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. while undergoing treatments, Misuzu continued to work in her profession and also contributed greatly to do God's work with the Los Angeles Family Church. She worked with her husband Ryozo in Blessing Activity and Church Outreach. She also worked with other Japanese missionaried with outreach activities.
As fillial daughter, Misuzu also took great care of her her parents, visiting them in Japan for extended periods in 2002 and 2003.
However, the cancer Misuzu had took a turn for the worse, when earlier 2004, she started feeling very weak and finally she succumbed and passed away at her home on May 2nd, 5:15 AM, 2004.
Misuzu always had a ready and beautiful smile for everyone she met. Family and friends fondly recall the she had that smile even while she wa bedridden for the past month.
